I have never been a prolific writer, didn’t take many English courses in college, and have never before considered starting a blog. And yet, here I am, attempting to chronicle my husband’s and my adventures, both for our own reflections and to keep our friends and family updated. It’ll be a bonus if we can assist anyone in similar circumstances along the way.
Yes, as this site is called, I married a Saudi. Everyone tells you not to, says they’re liars, says they are only in the US to study and party and will go home and break your heart. Well, I married him anyway. Stereotypes are there for a reason; they have a truth to them. However, there are many sides to a story, a multitude of interesting aspects to a culture, and very few people are the typical of any stereotype. So, I, an American woman from Montana, married my Saudi man. We met in Southern California where we both studied, and that is the launching point for our world adventures.
